What the Federation of British Bonsai Societies
offers for your Society

  1. Provides a database of information that is available to member societies.

  2. Provides a speakers book listing speakers/demonstrators available in the U.K.

  3. Organises on a regional basis, a bonsai amateur new talent competition each year, which aims to encourage those participating to do talks/ demonstrations.

  4. Supports financially and/or materially those societies wishing to put on a national or regional bonsai event.

  5. Promotes bonsai in the U.K. by exhibiting trees at Royal Horticultural Shows
    e.g. Chelsea and Gardeners World Live. (Members of FoBBS societies have an opportunity to have trees selected for these events).

  6. Provides £5 million comprehensive/3rd party insurance to member societies at a very competitive rate.

  7. Maintains a National Bonsai Collection at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

  8. Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive website.

  9. Is in the process of developing a speakers training programme for those wishing to develop presentation skills in giving bonsai talks and demonstrations.

  10. Developing a series of Bonsai Educational Powerpoint presentations to be available for hire by societies for use when short of a speaker.
