Japanese Larch –
Larix Kaempferi
Native to Japan, differing in bark colour to the common larch, which are found in temperate areas all around the northern hemisphere. Japanese larch are a favourite of the forestry industry due to its head strong and rapid growth rate, now commonly found across many plantations.
General Care
Full sun but should not be allowed to dry out too much; they grow longer leaves when growing in warmer areas,
Very head strong so prune accordingly, they will cast branches if the apex is allowed to dominate growth,
Japanese larch have very strong roots that need to be checked when repotting each season. Like most trees little and often is the key to feeding.
This group was bequeathed to the NBC by Peter Brown
