Chinese Juniper -
Juniperus chinensis
Juniper is a genus of about 50 - 70 species within the cypress family; they are evergreen coniferous trees or shrubs and are very popular for bonsai purposes. Juniper Bonsai trees sold in garden centres are often Japanese garden junipers (Juniperus procumbens nana) and Juniperus chinensis Blaauws, and Juniperus Squamata.
General Care
Tough and resilient tree suited to harsh environments with strong sun and fast draining sandy soils. The strength of the tree is held within the foliage mass, folia feeds suit them very well, keeping the soil on the dry side and fine misting the foliage daily keeps them in good health.
